Llandovery Farmers Market

The Market will be held on the first Saturday of the month in 2024, from 4th May till 5th October. The location is the historic Market Square in the town centre (postcode SA20 0AA). The market is open from 10am – 2pm.

Market Square is situated close to the car park.

Llandovery Farmers Market’s key aim is to principally offer produce that has been grown, reared, caught or processed from within 25 miles of Llandovery. We will prioritise processed food and drink that contain as many local ingredients as practically possible. We want customers to have confidence in knowing where their produce came from.

Our guiding principles:

To create a community hub where shoppers can meet and buy quality, local food at fair prices
To set up a local retail outlet where producers can be confident of a regular cash flow by direct selling and cutting out the middleman
To enable and ensure direct contact and feedback between the producer and customer
To support environmentally friendly farming and production practices where possible, for example, less food miles and plastic packaging, organic, free range rearing or organic and pesticide-free growing
To encourage healthy eating through having local, fresh, in-season, quality produce at fair prices
To support the local economy through rural economic development and employment

A community hub

We want the market to provide a focus for the community and its visitors to enjoy a day out in Llandovery. As well as doing your shopping we will also aim to have some sort of entertainment in the form of music or a keynote speaker.
